Vancouverism exhibit at CANADA HOUSE, London, UK

An exhibit about Vancouverism was opened at CANADA HOUSE in Trafalgar Square, London, on Monday night, June 23rd – by Mr. Wright and by Trevor Boddy, one of the project’s two curators. Here, Trevor and TAA member, Ian McLennan, are seen against the introductory backdrop to the exhibition. Vancouverism continues at CANADA HOUSE until September.
During the ceremonies, special mention was made of famed Vancouver architect Arthur Erickson – who recently attended a special TAA behind-the-scenes sneak preview of the newly expanded Museum of Anthropology. Several Vancouver and B.C. representatives from the architectural, engineering, construction, forestry and government services communities attended the London ceremony.
Bing Thom represents VANCOUVERISM in London, UK

TAA members Ian McLennan and architect Bing Thom met up in London, England on June 23rd – where Bing is one of a few chosen Vancouver architects representing the unique approach to West Coast design known around the world as Vancouverism. In the centre – between Bing and Ian is James R. Wright, Canada’s High Commissioner to the United Kingdom.
Last week TAA member, Ian McLennan (on right), met with Scott Langen, President of the Canadian Association of Science Centres (CASC), and Susan Reynolds Button, President of the International Planetarium Society (IPS). Ian is the CASC representative to IPS. Scott is Executive Director of Saskatchewan Science Centre, Regina. Susan Button is from Chittenango (near Syracuse) New York. IPS will be holding its next general conference Exploring the Edge in Chicago June 27 – July 3rd.
