A test to allow multiple authors on this blog
July 5, 2007
I have created an author’s account here in my own name: Robert Ballantyne. Now I have used that name to sign in and write this post. As an author, I can write and post. And I can edit my posts. But I cannot modify the site. I am hoping that the post will identify who is writing.

This theme does not automatically identify the author. Some do. This is an issue when there are several authors who post to the blog. Readers should know the source.
There is some discussion about this by wordpress.com users. The following link seems to suggest the options.

In the HTML, the author’s name appears as a comment field right after the date. But I cannot make it show up for the viewer to see it. It is not part of this wordpress theme, called ‘White as Milk.’
The alternative is to make a category called ‘author’ and then have a sub-category for the authorized authors.
I (as site admin) have made the AUTHOR category, and added the names of the members of the TAA Communications Committee. You can see this on the original post.
BTW, a side issue is deciding on the appropriate list of categories to be used at the site. If it is done thoughtfully, it can facilitate the sorting of lots of articles for the viewer.
