TAA Canada

Edited 2007 Aug 02: This proposal was made in February. The plan has changed since this was written. We will proceed with a modified version of this plan. Until you hear otherwise, please do not follow these instructions. 

This blog is to facilitate the electronic networking of the TAA Canada members.

Members have always seen TAA as useful in facilitating professional networking, and therefore achieving more business.

Nowadays almost all of our businesses have websites. The purpose of these sites is to attract new business and inform browsers of our products and services. For this to work, people need to be able to find our websites. Most initial hits to our sites come as the result of finding the link at a search engine.

Our electronic networking relies on our rating with the search engines, especially Google. Nothing improves our rating with the current search engines better than quality links to our site. Here is where Google explains how this works.

Since you are reading this, and this is a private blog, you have an approved account to access this site. Please do the following.

1. Use the Leave a Reply box at the end of this article. If you don’t see it, click on the title of this article to bring you to the page that has the article + the comments.
   Write type in the following information about your business

• NAME OF BUSINESS
  WEBSITE URL
  A PARAGRAPH ABOUT WHAT YOUR BUSINESS IS ABOUT
  Sign the comment with your personal name and contact
  When you have posted TAA links on your site (see below) send me an email to tell me this is done and include the URL. Write to robert@ballantyne.com, and put “TAA Business Listing” in the subject field. Somewhere here I will publish the list of firms that are providing links.

When this blog has a list of TAA business, have your web master create links to the other members. Do this knowing that they will be providing links to your business.

One point. Do not copy the material in the paragraph about the other businesses at your site. Paraphrase the material. Each of our link pages should be unique. Google has algorithms to reject link farms — and this is very close to being a link farm.
